Gold Coast Physiotherapy

Gold Coast Physiotherapy working on patient

Physiotherapy is the treatment and prevention of disease, dysfunction or injury by physical methods. Physiotherapists use their expert knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support their patients in restoring or maintaining their physical health. They help patients to:

  • Recover from injuries acquired through sports, accidents or daily stresses and strains;
  • Improve their physical health to prevent repeat injuries;
  • Regain normal physical function after a surgery or significant illness;
  • Overcome physical disorders and dysfunctions associated with illness, injury or age;
  • Understand and manage chronic pain.

At Ridiculously Well, we have a team of five talented physiotherapists, each with a minimum of 11 years experience. We offer one on one, half hour consultations in private treatment rooms and care for all ages. Our caring and dedicated Physiotherapists are skilled in a wide range of physiotherapeutic disciplines and will choose the best treatment for you based on your individual needs.

Manual Therapy

This type of therapy is a ‘hands-on’ approach involving a variety of different techniques including mobilisation, massage, trigger point release and muscle energy techniques. These techniques offer many benefits including to improve the mobility of joints, increase the range of motion, improve muscle lengths, improve muscle activation, correct biomechanical issues and most importantly to relieve pain.

Exercise Programs

Building up strength and flexibility is important in both the prevention and treatment of an injury. As part of your treatment, our physiotherapists can design a personal exercise program involving posture retaining, muscle strengthening, stretching and cardiovascular training. Our physiotherapists strive to make your exercise program fit well into your lifestyle to enable you to get back to optimal function as soon as possible.

Core Stability Retraining

Our core muscles play a pivotal role in the stability and support of our joints. Pain and dysfunction frequently result in weaknesses of the core muscles which is a common cause of ongoing and recurrent pain conditions. Regaining good core stability is, therefore, an essential element in the rehabilitation process to ensure complete recovery and prevent future recurrences. We have a Pilates reformer to assist in retraining you in the correct activation of your core muscles.

Pain Management

Chronic pain is a notoriously complex topic, covering everything from long-term back pain to disorders such as fibromyalgia and complex regional pain syndrome. Our physiotherapists are experienced in pain management and can provide comprehensive education to help you understand your condition. Our physiotherapists will work with you to develop a personalised pain management plan, helping to relieve your symptoms and ease the burden of chronic pain.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the use of very fine needles to stimulate certain energy points throughout the body. It is used alongside other complementary therapies to treat a broad range of conditions, including chronic pain, arthritis, and migraines. Most of our therapists are trained in the use of Western acupuncture and dry needling and can incorporate this into your treatment plan.

Our friendly, experienced physiotherapists are qualified in all of these methods and more,

including:

  • Correcting flawed sporting techniques to prevent injury;
  • Taping and splinting to aid the healing process;
  • Cardiopulmonary physiotherapy to assist in the management of respiratory conditions such as COPD and pneumonia;
  • Providing information on aids such as orthopaedic braces and walking frames.

If you’re experiencing physical difficulties from injury, illness or pain, don’t suffer alone.

We can develop a personalised treatment plan to get to the root of your problem, help you to manage your pain and get you back on the road to good health.
