Mental Health

Compassionate, holistic therapy for mind, body and nervous system.

Frankie Latimer is a registered mental health social worker with a Master’s degree and extensive training in somatic therapies, EMDR, CBT, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Her work supports healing, emotional literacy, and reconnection with your inner strength.

“I don’t see myself as the expert on your life — I’m a companion on your journey, invited to walk beside you while you rediscover what matters most.”

Frankie blends evidence-based approaches with deep compassion, meeting you exactly where you are. Her sessions integrate mind, emotion, and body-based awareness, always at your pace and grounded in a person-centred, strengths-based philosophy.

She has worked across diverse areas including addiction, trauma, persistent mental health challenges, dementia care, and refugee support. Her lived experience and professional background uniquely inform her therapeutic presence.

Outside of her work, Frankie is a proud mother and grandmother, a runner, a nature lover, and a restorer of old furniture. Her personal healing journey—including returning to university at 30 and walking the 800km Camino de Santiago—deepens her empathy and belief in every person’s capacity to grow.

Frankie offers Zoom-based sessions and accepts GP Mental Health Care Plans.

More About My Approach

At the heart of my work is a deep respect for the whole person—mind, body, emotions, and story. I believe therapy is not about fixing you; it’s about creating space for you to remember who you are beneath the coping strategies, patterns, and pain. Healing happens when we feel seen, safe, and supported—and that’s what I aim to offer.

I don’t sit in the expert chair.
I see our work together as a partnership. You bring your lived experience, your strengths, your hesitations—and I bring presence, training, and a deep trust in your capacity to heal. Together, we’ll explore what’s going on for you, unpack the narratives that might be keeping you stuck, and listen closely to the quiet wisdom your body holds.

My approach is person-centred and trauma-informed, drawing on a range of evidence-based practices including:

  • Somatic and nervous system therapies

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Mindfulness and body awareness

Some days our sessions might feel reflective and spacious. Other times, they’ll be more structured or skills-focused. Either way, we go at your pace. There’s no rush. No pressure to have it all figured out. Just gentle, steady steps forward—whatever that means for you.

I work with people who are processing trauma, navigating anxiety or depression, recovering from burnout, or simply feeling lost or overwhelmed by life. You don’t need a major crisis to reach out. Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is pause and say, “Something’s not quite right—and I’d like support.”

In my own life, I know what it feels like to rebuild from the ground up. My path into this work wasn’t linear. It came from lived experience, a career change in my 30s, and a long, rewarding journey through my own healing. That means I hold a deep reverence for the courage it takes to show up—for yourself, for your story, and for the life you want to lead.

So if you’re ready, I’m here. Not to lead you, but to walk alongside you.

Warmly,
Frankie
